Latest Trout Update

Augmented Reality Sandbox

Ron Myers, a teacher in my district, got a grant to buy the supplies to create this amazing virtual reality sandbox. Below are pictures of pure white sand that are made to look like a topography map or a landform relief map using a projector and a first release Xbox! So cool! Watch the videos below to listen to Ron turn these amazing pictures into science lessons.

RC Car Racing

Today in science we raced RC cars and robots. Afterward, we learned the rate = distance divided by time formula and used it to find the speed of each vehicle.

Water Quality Testing

Today students from Allegheny College and the Creek Connections program brought water samples from Little Shenango River. We did tests on the water and posted the results on an online database along with dozens of other schools.
